How it all started

After 17 years in the corporate bidding world, Emma Smallwood founded Bidology in 2017 to build the kind of consultancy she would want to work with: experienced, approachable and genuinely invested in her clients’ success.

​

Nearly ten years on, Bidology has supported organisations of every size, from growing SMEs to some of the UK’s largest Tier 1 organisations.

​

Today, Emma brings more than 27 years’ experience to every opportunity, but one thing has never changed. Every bid tells a different story.

​

For some organisations, winning a contract means growth. For others, it protects jobs, creates opportunities and secures the future of the business.

The project that shaped Bidology

One of our earliest projects was for a family-run security company facing the loss of almost 70% of its turnover when its local authority combined several contracts into a single county-wide opportunity.

​

Working closely with the client, we helped shape the service solution, strengthen the evidence and present the business in a way that gave evaluators confidence.

They won the contract.

​

We had got to know the business, we genuinely liked the people and we cared about the outcome. Winning that contract mattered to us.

​

That experience has stayed with us ever since. It continues to shape the way we work, the relationships we build and the commitment we bring to every opportunity.
